AMERICAN SOUTHERN ROCK is arguably a very distinctive style of rock music that is now followed by music lovers around the World
Originating from the Southern States of America in the 1970's by blending blues, country and hard rock, usually with a distinct and often rebelious redneck proweness
The music is often characterised by having twin lead guitars often playing blues based harmony guitar licks over a blend of boogie-woogie and luisiana style rhythms but with hard rock accents. Keyboards and strong vocal harmonies also feature heavily in the compositions. This style of music was optimised by bands like Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Allman Bros.
There have also been been many other famous bands originating from the Southern States including Creedence Clearwater Revival, ZZ Top, Black Oak Arkensas, Edgar Winter band, Marshall Tucker band, Molly Hatchet, Outlaws, Georgia Satelites and of course everybody's favourite Tom Petty.
Today there are also some great new original bands who are continuing the Southern Rock tradition such as the Tadeschi Tucks band, Blackberry Smoke and Robert Jon & The Wreck
Taking the name from a Blackberry Smoke song, the 6IX WAYS 2 SUNDAY band perform a uniquely authentic show that is not to be missed by all lovers of Southern Rock. The band has it's own very distinctive style of playing and this is portrayed in many of the other songs they cover in their shows
The members of the band are all seasoned musicians fresh from touring extensively throughout Europe with other such bands as The Animals, Creedence Clearwater Revived and the UK Legends, all of which have featured legendary musicians from around the World
